My story
Hi, I’m Betsy.
I'm naturally curious. I like to play. I'm passionate. I love art and the art of living. I’m creative by nature and I love to let that nature run wild. Creating makes me feel alive.
Writing is probably my longest and deepest creative love, but certainly not my one and only. Another is glass. I’ve been passionately playing with it since 2017.
The beginning of that year I had been imagining original glass designs that I really wanted and was compelled to make. I asked my dad to teach me. He’d been making beautiful glass art since the 80's.
And so he taught me. And so I learned. And so my obsession began.
I adore the glass colors, the way their appearance changes with the environment depending on light level and angle. I love the shine and the way the pieces move with the unseen air currents! And those colored shadows they project on the wall, they get me every time. Working with glass flat out brings me tons of joy!
Since I’ve started, glass art has become my prime medium of artistic expression.

In 2019 I started Betsy Rowe Art LLC as a channel for sharing my glasswork.
I make designs that I love. My biggest inspirations are nature, science and spirit - put them all together and you end up with magic. I see the whimsy and wonder of movement, flow, suspension and light in my creations.
I believe art has the power to heal and communicate. I feel incredibly rich, and sometimes like a mad scientist creating the magical pieces I envision - usually with mad scientist hair to go with it!
